The Department's 72nd Annual Marine Memorial Ceremony will be hosted by the Pierce County Detachment 504 on August 31, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Park in Enumclaw WA. The ceremony will start at 12:00 PM and last for an hour to an hour and half. The ceremony is open to the public.
This ceremony is to honor the memory of the 32 Marines who were killed when the plane crashed atop Mt Rainier on December 10, 1946. The Department has held a memorial for them every summer since, first at Round Pass in Mt Rainier Park and then later in Enumclaw when the roads and trails became impassable.
We encourage all League members, who are able, to attend and remember our fallen brothers.
